Somebody suggested to use peppermint tea to help with digestion issue and bloating with Sprycel. Does anybody know if it is okay to drink a cup every day? I am always afraid of interaction with Sprycel.

Peppermint tea against bloating
Hi Karinne,
I know if you read deep enough, you'll find something that says herbals teas should be taken with caution. I understand why ... maybe one is full of grapefruit, another of something else. But peppermint tea is the most common of all herbal teas really so if there was a problem it would have been found by now.
It's delicious, and really does work. I had major surgery on my abdomen a few years back and the nurses in the hospital gave me a peppermint solution to drink and it really helped with bloating. I admit I am a real skeptic when it comes to herbal remedies, but this time I am a believer.
David.
Hi Karinne,
Herbal preparations plus some fruits are not advised..... the main ones being St.John's Wort and Grapefruit juice or fruit etc. However herbal teas like peppermint, camomile etc are not, to my knowledge, indicated in negative interactions with TKIs.
Another good one for any digestive problem is ginger.... I make my own ginger (fresh root) and lemon (fresh fruit) tea. Easy to make and delicious -just simmer a large handful of chopped ginger root and one sliced lemon in a couple of pints of water for around 30 mins. It's also great for easing the symptoms of chest infections.
