Help

Hi all

My husband has been drug free since 21/4/18 after being on most TKIs since Nov 2003. His bcr-abl  hasn’t changed since stopping meds and the rest of his bloods are looking good however he has developed terrible joint pain and stiffness. He went to GP last week and had bloods done looking for inflammatory signs but all was ok with bloods. Prior to cestasion he did have some bone pain, diarrhoea, nausea and fatigue. So far it’s just the stomach symptoms that have stopped and the joint pain problems increased as well as still having the fatigue.

We have contacted haematology but they don’t have an answer and GP just offered pain killers.

Does anyone have any ideas what might be going on?

Some patients suffer withdrawal when stopping meds. It could be this.

Maria I agree with Chrissie that the bone pain is because of drug withdrawal. I have read of others having same issue. I can’t remember unfortunately what you can take to ease the pain ( magnesium taurate?) . At least I hope knowing what is the probable cause helps relieve your anxiety.

Best wishes Louise

Thanks

We did wonder about withdrawal and will defo try the magnesium

thanks again
