Good results

Thanks guys for this forum. It really helps. Had my Dr appointment nov 27th. All is well. He said "excellent blood results". Only a trace found. 0.007%. Yay. (3 months in). One final question( for now). My stomach muscles are sore. Sometimes feels like stretching. Is this common on gleevac?

Not sure about the Stomach but they aren’t “Good” results they’re “Incredible” results in such a short time. Many people take years to attain such a deep response. You are very very lucky!! I’d be popping the champagne!

Good on you.

Aw thanks alex. From reading some of these post, I think mine was caught very early. My wbc was 18,000 at time of diagnosis. I am happy and less scared now.

You’re welcome! Yeah you’ve got no worries at that level!!

Yes you were defo caught early I was 330wbc at DX in March and a “Enourmous” spleen 30 times it’s normal size. I am 0.7% PCR at 6 months and where I need to be so I am happy with that. 6 monthly blood tests now too which takes the pressure off a bit. The mental and emotional  struggle is the hardest for me.

Go get that bottle :-)

Funny you mention the stomach muscles Mona. I have gone to bed very early tonight because of stomach pains which have been increasing since taking the Nilotinib over the last month. I’m having pain like wind in my upper gut behind my ribs and my stomach. Going to go to the hospital tomorrow to ask the OB if this is related to the meds. The only other symptom I have been getting is a very sensitive head and always scratching. My friends think it’s hilarious but I’m not amused.

OMG, the head itching was the worst. I went to Er, dermatologist and family dr over it. I was even hoping I had lice. Lol. Bumps and itching. Thank god tho, that has stopped. Been on gleevec for 3 months so in guessing that's part of the disease. Even my oncologist at very beginning told me to just use dandruff shampoo. I don't think he associated it with the cml. It was awful but hang in there, it goes away.
