Sprycel & bruise-like pain

Categories:

Hi all,

I'm in week 2 of Sprycel, having moved from Imatinib due to sub-optimal response. I'm experiencing the same fatigue & I'm hoping that this fades over time. However, I'm also experiencing something new - I turned round in the car on Monday night & felt a slight discomfort in my side, it was very minor, just a bad movement which meant I slightly bashed my side on the seat.  I didn't give it another thought until later than night when my side felt like someone had kicked it.  This has got worse since & now, 2 days later, I feel bruised & bashed on my side but there is nothing to be seen; no bruise or red mark.  It isn't helped by a constant cough, which aggravates the pain.

I read about a lot of people struggling with bone & muscle pain but this feels more general than pain in a specific bone or muscle - the best way I can describe it is that it feels like I've been kicked a few times down the side of my ribs. Just wondering if anyone has had a similar experience...?

Thanks,

Victoria.

Hi Victoria,

Not on Sprycel I am on Nilotinib but did got lots of aches and pains in various places when I first started. I still get the odd twinge now and again but it’s minor. What side is the pain your left or right? If the left it could be your spleen. I’ve read some people do get spleen pain from time to time.

All the best with your treatment

Alex

You might want to check with your Onc, reporting the cough and the chest pain.  Better to check than worry.

Thanks Gitel & Alex. Happen to have an appointment with haematologist tomorrow so hopefully I’ll get clarity on what’s going on.

Take care,

Victoria.
