May I introduce myself as a husband who lost his beautiful wife 'F' to CML at the end of August?
It's also hard as it's just been her birthday and today would've been our wedding anniversary.
I am also a single parent now to three teenagers.
In brief, F was diagnosed at the end of January with CML and a blast cell count of 22%. We had no idea as the only symptom was an enlarged spleen.
Three courses of chemo followed as well as a stem cell transplant. At first all went very well indeed but then F developed acute gut GVHD. Her doctors tried everything but eventually she had to move to palliative care.
From diagnosis to death was seven months and three days.
My real point is this, F hated conventional medicine and the large drug companies and very much wanted natural cures. She couldn't find anything really online and we were told in January that without chemo she had eight weeks at most. So she went down the NHS conventional route.
I should say that F was very fit and healthy with an interest in a good diet and lifestyle.
I presume there are no natural cures for CML,with or without a blast crisis?
