CML meeting at Hammersmith Hospital 16 February

Here is a letter I received from Hammersmith Hospital today as I will be going to the UK early Feb for a second opinion. I will be going to this event as i` thought it would be useful and also means i can meet others with CML and feel less alone. I thought some of you may like to attend too so here is the information

 

I have attached details of the next meeting, it is purely for CML patients and we usually have a round 20-30 people attend, we have a Consultant and Nurse attend and they will talk about current treatments and are on hand to answer any questions you may have, the group is extremely supportive and there is always a mixture of newly diagnosed and also patients that are quite a way down their journey.  You would be more than welcome to come along

CML Patient-Carer Support Group

The team at the Hammersmith Hospital, Leukaemia CARE and Steven Davies would like to invite you to come to the CML Patient-Carer Support Group.

Date: 16th February 2019
Venue: Haematology Outpatients Clinic, Catherine Lewis Centre,
Hammersmith Hospital, Du Cane Road, London, W12 0NN
Time: 10.30am – 1.30pm

We will be joined by Dr Dragana Milojkovic, Consultant Haematologist and Irene Caballes, Clinical Nurse Specialist, who will be on hand to answer your
questions on CML.

There is free parking at the venue in the Wormwood Scrubs Park located between the hospital and the prison off Du Cane Road.

All are welcome at the meeting and you are invited to bring friends, family and carers who may find it useful.

Do you know if there will be another meet up later in 2019 as I would be traveling from Warrington and I can't make it for the 16.2.19 meeting although I would like to attend one of the CML meetings

I’m not sure when the meetings are but I know Hammersmith have them 3 x per year. I have come over from The Middle East especially to go to the one next weekend. I also came over to get a second opinion on treatment and went to The Hammersmith...WOW...it was well worth the trip and I got so much out of the one consultation I had.

there is usually a conference once a year later in the year on CML but I can remember where it is going to be this year

 

is anyone else going to the support meeting next Saturday at The Hammersmith. if so It would be nice to know and maybe met some of the postees on this forum

We don't have a date yet for the 2019 patient day. It's usually every year, and details will be posted on this site as soon as they are available. As you can imagine, it takes quite a lot of organising.

The next date at Hammersmith for a meet up of patients and caregivers with CML is  18 May and 7 sept. Today I finally got to meet other people with CML ....what a relief to know I’m not the only one out there and to see other people with the same issues who truely understand. It was well worth flying over to the Uk to go.
