Hello, I’m a brand new member, needing help to navigate this site. ATM, I am mainly interested in prolonged fasting and was following a thread by “Scuba” on the subject. I joined in order to enter that discussion. But now that I’m on the site I don’t seem able to navigate it.

How do I find Scubas thread on prolonged water fasting???  Can someone help me figure this out?

I appreciate any help, and glad to be here.

Hi, and welcome. The search box should return you the right result if you enter “fasting” into it.

David.

Sarah the question of fasting was discussed at the CML patient day last September. The clinicians' discussion is on this link, about 5 mins 45 seconds into the video.  The question was asked based on Scuba's discussions on this thread. I hope you have found the thread, but thought this might also be of interest.

Alistair,

Thank you so much for posting the link. I had a very good time listening to the "experts" response regarding fasting, dose and related.

For those who want to listen to the key bits - it starts around 6:30 into the video.

Of course - I disagree with them. Strongly. It was noteworthy that their response was "knee jerk" in that they seemed puzzled by the question as if first time they ever heard it. They don't know so they just said don't do it.

Science has already verified stem cell activation upon prolonged fasting:

Science has also shown that for cancer patients, fasting prior to treatment (the radiation/chemo kind) gave BETTER results:

The panel participants don't know about this so they just say it's a bad idea. I feel comfortable doing what I did and continue to do. It may very well help me achieve treatment free remission (my goal).

NO MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL is likely going to suggest anyone on this forum do anything that is not clinically tested, and government approved.
