Dizziness

Hi

Sorry I haven't posted for a long while. I was wondering if anyone else has had dizziness associated with CML.

I've now had this dizziness since the beginning of January. It's not vertigo (spinning) but just feeling constantly dizzy. I've had an MRI scan on my brain and spine and got my results today and everything seems normal so that's good news and I've been to see a ENT consultant and he say's it's not to do with my ears. So I'm wondering if anyone else has or is experiencing anything like this. I'm waiting now to see a ENT surgeon and Neurotologist who specializes in dizziness.

Hammersmith don't seem to think it's to do with Glivec as I've never had problems before.

Any Ideas!!!

All the best.

Angela

Hi Kathy

Thanks for your reply. I've never had the dizziness before and I've had cml for since October 03 only since January this year. Oh well I hope it goes soon.

Take care, love Angela

Taken off Gleevec-side affects, put on Hydroxycarbamide (Hydroxyurea).Side affects not as bad.Ocassional breathlessness, diziness, pain in shoulders, neck and sometimes both legs.
Is anybody else out there just on Hydroxycarbamide 500mg tablets.Just take one a day at the present time.Besides having CML, am also anaemic and where ahearing aid due to impaired hearing in left ear.

Hi Dear Angela, A few months back i was experiencing a dizzy type of problem when i went to lay down and turn over in bed and get up, this has since stopped. Now i have been experiencing for the past few weeks this other problem which i thought was down to me needing new glasses well i have them and i'm still experiencing this dizziness...! which causes me trouble walking in a straight line and i keep bumping into things because my eyes have trouble focusing properly when walking. When i sit or lay down the problem eases but my head still feels weird and i still lose focus at times and have blurred vision, which is a horrible sensation. I'm constantly tired and my eyes have also suffered bleeding(bloodshot) and pain, i never used to get all these problems when taking the Original Glivec Imatinib as that has now stopped due to the cost and i have been on a variety of cheaper brands the most recent being Sandoz Imatinib however i have noticed that my latest 3 month supply has changed again to Mylan Imatinib which i'm yet to start taking. I feel like the Proverbial Guinea Pig on these different brands and i'm sure many of you must feel the same? I have looked at the side effects list and all these symptoms could well be the fault of the Imatinib...Please let me know who your latest Imatinib is produced by? GOD BLESS Rebecca Bonnell X

Hi Dear BM Segelman i also have to wear hearing aids in both ears due to loss of hearing since being diagnosed which has got worse. I have been taken off Glivec and have been on a variety of other brands of this drug latest Sandoz Imatinib and now have a new brand lined up...Mylan Imatinib 400mg a day. I have all the problems you have listed cramp in the legs is a Really Painful one...! GOD BLESS Rebecca X
