Has any one had drastic hair thinning after 12 months of taking 100gm imatinib.Or could it be stress ?

Hi Anne, My hair was thinning 12 months before I was diagnosed with CML that’s why I went to the doctors thinking it was my thyroid dipping , I was sent for blood tests .I have been on Imatinib for 9 months now and it hasn’t got any worse ,think it’s actually starting growing again now that my bloods are back to normal .Your hair is last to get any goodness and vitamins .Look to see if you are lacking it certain vitamins and top them maybe with the correct food or supplements .I went to see a dermatologist she said it probably is a form of Alopecia due to the stresses in life ,and told me what supplements to take .Regards ,Denise.
I have quite the opposite effect. I have been on Tasigna for 12 months and my hair grows faster then before averaging a little over an inch a month. It does not make sense to me as hair thinning/less growth is a listed possible side effect.
Hi I have been on Tasigna for 5 months and have noticed hair thinning and the texture is defo not the same. Its not drastic yet but its defo felt by me for sure.
Drastic hair thinning - check. Texture change to fine and wispy - check. And increased speed in growing length - check. So, basically, the worst of all possible worlds: I hardly have any hair, what I do have is unmanageable, AND I have to get it colored almost twice as often! Thank you CML, TKIs and age - the triple whammy!
